Parenting

Sometimes you can't help but be proud of your kids for thinking outside of the box. Wyatt is in 4th grade. His artistic abilities may be in question, but he certainly knows how to get straight to the point in the spelling exercise where the student is supposed to draw a picture that represents the word. Unfortunately, his teacher counted off for Wyatt's pictoral description of the word "rear" in #4. Her comment being, "didn't discuss this definition!"

Well done Wyatt! How else would you pictorially depict 'rear'? I think his picture is great...thanks for sharing, it really made me laugh!

I concur with Michelle's comment. What DID the teacher expect Wyatt to draw? It seems as though his "street smarts" had to step in and take charge.

I am also wondering what the teacher expected...will tomorrow's word be FRONT?..

Hopefully he'll hold onto that image and re-use it later for spelling words such as cheeks, moon, can, or bum.

Lois, thanks for the email. I say "bravo" to Wyatt for a vivid and I have to say, accurate depiction of the word "rear!" I have to say, his picture was the first thing that came to my mind. You get an "A" in my book!

Am I the only who noticed that he wrote the word "hairy" before "rear"... very strange indeed! :)

I also noticed that hairy was before rear?? I think the teacher tricked them, just to see what kind of responses she would get!! So there is an up and coming artist in the family!!!

What kind of facists school are you sending poor Wyatt too?!? I cannot think of another or better illustration to depict 'rear'. A+ 100% in my book.
